Hoax news story does the rounds worldwide
It has been reported that thousands of people in Japan have been sold sheep instead of poodles in a huge pet scam in Hokkaido.
The story was too good to resist, and media worldwide ran with it.
But we looked into the story, and our findings could leave a few people feeling very sheepish indeed.

ただ、この話が、そもそもどこから出てきたのかは他の都市伝説と同様に不明だ。「友人の友人から聞いた話」として、私見ではかなり前から流布されているのであろう。今回の場合は、日本の女優さんがトークショーでしゃべったことで都市伝説の枠組みを超えてしまったという。。。感じですね。
